Hi Proxmark-Forum!
I got this fancy Proxmark3 from work to "play with".
hw tune returns this:
# LF antenna: 0.00 V @ 125.00 kHz
# LF antenna: 0.00 V @ 134.00 kHz
# LF optimal: 0.00 V @ 12000.00 kHz
# HF antenna: 8.93 V @ 13.56 MHz
# Your LF antenna is unusable.
So I'm assuming both the proxmark and the hf antenna work.
However, when I try to read a legic card, the result is always the same:
#db# setting up legic card
#db# Unknown card format: 26
I tried this with 2 different cards but it didn't work with either one.
In this Forum I read that Unknown card format:26 means that either the card returned 8 0 bits, or that the antenna didnt read anything at all. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any more information on that, though.
If anyone has experienced this problem before or knows a solution anyway, I'd appreciate your help very much.
Cheers WT

No Suggestions at all?
I keep reading the manuals, but i just can't find the reason...
Am I missing something?

I read in the documentation, that you can find out which kind of card (hf or lf) you're scanning by running "hw tune" couple of times so you know what voltage your antenna usually has. Once you enter a card into the correct antennas area, the voltage should drop.
The thing is i know for sure, that i have a legic card to test it with, which means the hf antenna is the correct one. But the voltage never drops when i run "hw tune" with the card nearby.
Any idea what that might mean? Is it simply my antenna, that's broken?

Did you try posting in the Legic section?

Maybe it's not an LEGIC Prime Card! "hf legic" works only on those type of legic cards, not with the newer ones (Advant). With LEGIC Prime the code works perfectly fine i can tell. You should get something like "FOUND MIM256 card" or "FOUND MIM1024 card" back.

Thanks for your replies (and for moving this into the correct section )
One of the cards I tested it with was my co-workers student card from his university. Apparently it's a Legic card too and it's about 4 years old. Does anyone know if Legic Advant was on the market four years ago?
hw version returns this btw:
#db# Prox/RFID mark3 RFID instrument
#db# bootrom: svn 486-unclean 2011-08-28 18:52:03
#db# os: svn 486-unclean 2011-08-28 18:52:03
#db# FPGA image built on 2009/12/ 8 at 8: 3:54
I haven't updated the firmware yet, because I was scared to break the proxmark (it is an expensive little fella after all...), because i found about 3 different versions of the documentation and I couldn't figure out which one was the latest one/the one for my firmware. Could that be the reason why i can't read Legic cards properly? If so, i'll give that a try.
