Hi,
I'm new here and this question has probably been asked more often but I can't find an awnser to my exact question soo here we go:
I bought the PM3 and followed every exact step in the manual. Evrything seemed to work af first. I used the proxmark for the purpose I needed it for and put it away again.
After a few days I wanted to start using it again, but not it's not getting detected anymore. Not if I hold the button, and neither in my device manager. So no COM ports are gettings assigned anymore.
Anyone got tips?

I'm using windows 10 by the way

Can't imagine no one knows.. -.-

To recap.
- Setup and working
- Next usage, no com port when pm3 is connected
- Windows 10
Is there any indication that windows is searching for the driver for the device when first connected ?
Any unknown devices appear in device manager when connected ?
Offline
Correct.
Absolutely nothing seems to happen in my PC when I connect it; although the PM3 is actually getting switched on (against the odds), according to the LED on it.

So to be clear; no unknown devices detected either.

Is the cable the same?
Offline
Yes, I use the one that came with the package. I was thinking to try another cable or another PC but haven't tried that yet
Offline
OK, as I suspected; a different cable gives the same effect.. I haven't got another PC on hand, So I'll post my findings if I get my hands on one. Meanwhile I'd still like to solve this problem with my current setup.

What model pm3 do you have?
Some have 2 usb connectors but only 1 is for comms. Like the easy.
Offline
I think it's the newest model, it only has one connector. How do I know what model it is?
Offline
The rdv4 is what I would call the latest. its about the size of a card (but thicker) in a black case. When on, has 4 blue leds (always on) and 4 red leds (on/off based on whats going on).
but if it only has the one usb port, then its not what I was thinking may have been a simple issue.
Search the web for images of the different models if not matching the rdv4 (4.01) description.
If there are ANY leds "on" when connected/powered, let us know which ones are on.

OK never mind... I'm no paying attention at all obviously.. It's got two connectors indeed and I was using the wrong one all the time. I've got a rdv4 indeeed. Probleem solved! Sorry ':) and thanks!
Now what's this other connector for?
Offline
two connectors? Then you don't have a RDV4... You have a bad chinese clone of the PM3 Easy.
Offline
Not 100% sure what the 2nd is for, I think it was for power or an external antenna hookup, but as iceman said, sounds like a clone of the PM3 Easy.
either way, you got it working
If all is well, can you edit the subject and mark as [SOLVED]
Thanks
