I was playing with hid cards that i have to set up for people at work.
After successfully cloning my hid onto a t5577 i wanted to see if i could generate a new card for the same facility but with a different card id to basically write a card for another user without having their card.
I haven't tested the impersonation card i made yet, and i have a lot more to learn but i wanted to see if this was useful at all and if it was find out if it would work with other hid proximity systems.
Questions:
Is it useful to anyone else at all?
Is there a simpler way to do this? (the Wiegand and Brivo calculator didn't seem to work as i hoped)
The hid hex key always starts with the FC but the CardID seems to have an offset. Without looking up the manual is this offset always the same or is there a bit somewhere that defines it? (example below)
0101010101010101 000 0001001001000010 0
-----------FC-------- -nop- -------CARDID------ -nop-

LoL. Google did not find that one for me. Kind of figured i was reinventing the wheel when i made it but wanted to see it through for at least my own personal use. Thanks iceman.

cardinfo is gradually growing in popularity. I have not put any effort in to optimizing search results etc...
The plan is to move this across (and redirect traffic) to a new wiki I've thrown together - http://smartcard.wiki/.
I intend on creating a custom cardinfo DokuWiki plugin.
Please feel free to contribute to the wiki.
If you'd like to contribute to the development of either one, please let me know!

Feel free to send me an email any time. You can decode the modhex value in my signature on the cardinfo site to get my mail address.
