I bought Proxmark3 V3(http://www.emartee.com/product/42308/Proxmark3%20V3.0%20DEV%20Easy%20Kits) and having tough time install the drivers on windows 10.
I am running a windows 10 home edition 64bit system.
I downloaded the Windows 10 driver from internet and even asked the seller for windows 10 driver but I keep getting the below error.
Before installing I turned off the driver signature authentication.
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based system." Error
I know I updated the right usb device in the Human interface devices list as it goes away and comes back when i disconnect / plug in the proxmark3
I found a post for the same error for Windows 7 but the step listed for it doesn't work for windows 10 - http://www.proxmark.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=4584#p4584
Please help.

Sorry, on my win10, 64bit, I disabled the driver signature (those new blue screens and reboots) and installed it afterwards by pointing to .inf file when "update driver" / "have disk" for my PM3 device.
using the one on GitHub. https://github.com/Proxmark/proxmark3/t … ter/driver

I did disable the driver signature to start with.
when i open the github link I see two options.
-77-mm-usb-device-blacklist.rules
-proxmark3.inf
I clicked on both which opened separate pages with some sort of codes... but couldnt see a download file.
Sorry I am very new to this.

Thanks heaps iceman, another silly question, the link to the windows wiki is for windows7, are the steps same for windows 10 as well also,do I need to follow the steps for " Development environment installation"?

If you want to compile / use the latest sourcecode from Github, then yes.
If you have linux, Mac or docker you can use that instead of installing the Mingw environment for Windows.
It comes down to what you are comfortable with, but the instructions are the same for Win 7 / Win 10.

Read wiki on how to flash, use the client...

Hi! I am having the same issue.
Could you please share how you solve the "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based system." Error?
Many thanks!
EDIT
Problem solve! Silly me, I was trying to update the usb connection and not the port. Hope it will help others if they are getting the same error.
